The production of electricity in a greener and more sustainable way by employing renewable sources is great challenge modern times. Photovoltaic systems represent an important possibility because sunlight the most abundant source. In this review article, recent studies (from 2018 to present) involving novel iron copper complexes employed as dyes Dye-Sensitized Solar Cells (DSSCs) are reported; mono- bimetallic Fe complexes, Cu-based dyes, devices presenting both metals discussed, together with performances DSSCs reported papers corresponding values main parameters characterize such solar cells. feasibility alone or combination other earth-abundant metals, demonstrated. proper optimization sensitizers, that electrolyte semiconducting layer, will likely lead development highly performing cheap photovoltaic for future applications on much larger scale.
